Suppose you wash your face thoroughly and then cake on lots of cosmetics. Your clean skin then has little time to enjoy its freedom from harsh chemicals. You have not performed a proper wash. A proper wash is done at nighttime, allowing the skin 7 to 8 hours in which to recover from a long period of exposure to oils and chemicals.
If your pimple is on your face, you may opt to steam your face instead. It is for the same purpose as above to loosen debris that may be imbedded into your skin. Take a bowl of hot water and place your face just above it. Let the steam rise to your skin for about 10-15 minutes and then wipe off excessive sweat from the heat.
